It’s been around a month and a half since I arrived here in the city of Bongs, and about a month in my new job. It’s been kinda hectic, I don’t even remember when I joined up at work. I feel like I’ve been here for years and years. Got hit by work from day one, and am still reeling from the after effects of all that work ;) Oh well, it isn’t as bad as that. It actually feels good to do some solid work. Feels like crap to be at work on a Saturday, thanks to the total Karnataka shutdown last Monday. Drat.
It may take some time before I blog again. I’m yet to move into my newly-rented house, and there are tons of things left to be done, and I’m not yet connected at home. One blog that I definitely plan to work on is “Perl is an ugly four-letter word”. Do I have to spell it out? I need to use Perl at work :(
After hankering around for ages for a telescope, I finally gave in to temptation and blew some money on one. Yes, I submitted myself to the indignity of buying a telescope instead of making one by hand the hard way. The only saving grace is that the one I bought is a small tyro’s first scope. It’s a 70mm refractor, nothing more than a binocular (okay, monocular) on a tripod. It’s slightly better than a pair of binocs, I can clearly see Saturn’s rings. So there :) So far all that I’ve looked at are Saturn, the Orion Nebula, a couple of binaries, and Venus. Need to make time to see more.
